Due to many factors student participation will continue on-line, the following options are available for students to participate in 2022.

Upon confirmation of enrolment details and payment a unique link to the AFM platform will be sent to you for you to transfer the video submissions.
All submissions must be received by 8pm 10th June 2022.
The examiners assess all participants using the same assessment criteria and select finalists. Results and individual time slots for finalists will be sent to the teacher/independent candidate.
Important note: All AFM employees have valid Working with Children Check Cards; have completed the State Government required Training - Protecting children - Mandatory reporting and other obligations and are bound to the AFM Child Safety Policy. Copies of these will be provided to the school upon request.
All finals will take place in Term 3, on-line via ZOOM meetings.
The dates and times of the finals cannot be changed.
Finalists will recite off by heart their poem on-line before two judges.
Winners will be announced on the Alliance française de Melbourne website and an Awards Ceremony will be held at the end of the year.
Teachers book a date for the assessment by emailing 3 dates in order of preference to competition@afmelbourne.com.au
Students will be assessed on-line via ZOOM during class time at school or from home if Covid restrictions in place.
The teacher will receive an invitation to join a ZOOM meeting hosted by the AFM at the reserved time 24h beforehand.
When there are more than 40 students participating from the same school, it may be possible for examiners to visit the school and assess students in person. Please contact the co-ordinator: competition@afmelbourne.com.au

The final assessment consists of 2 examiners asking general conversation questions related to the student’s personal world and their interactions with the French language and culture as a learner.

The written exams must be conducted under exam conditions supervised by a teacher.
The teacher will receive by email the written exam paper (PDF) and audio track:
YEARS 9 & 10 : Monday 30 May
YEARS 11 & 12 : Monday 6 June
Please print the number of exam papers required and have your students sit the exam in one session.
A dictionary (hard copy) is permitted.
