Bon appétit: French Food in Focus (St Kilda)

France is not only famous for its beautiful food and wine, but also for the important relationship that exists between culture and food. La gastronomie has a special place in French history and in the hearts and minds of French people, even in these modern times.

This 5-week French language course for B1 level students will take you on a deep dive into French food culture, including dining traditions, the history of gastronomy, legendary and modern French chefs, and recipes that you'll want to try as soon as you're next in the kitchen! This class will also include discussion of themes from the film Délicieux, which features in the 2021 Alliance Française French Film Festival.

Students will practise all elements of the French language – reading, writing, listening and speaking – while enhancing their vocabulary, to come away with an improved knowledge of la cuisine française!
