Are you planning a trip to France or a French-speaking country? Knowing just a little French will go a long way and will make your experience much more pleasant. With a few key words, speaking to locals will be easier and more enjoyable as they will be happier to interact with you knowing that you are making the effort to speak their language!

The Alliance Française is here to prepare you for your upcoming trip. You’ll be riding the metro, ordering baguettes and glasses of wine, asking directions and greeting locals before even setting foot in the country! The class is designed to get you comfortable with some basic French vocabulary and phrases so that once you get there, you can relax and make the most of your trip!

This ‘Step 1 course’ is designed for beginners and students with little prior knowledge of French (levels: A1.1 - A1.2 students). Topics covered include:

  • Greeting people, introducing yourself;

  • Alphabet & numbers to make bookings, asking for prices;

  • Asking for directions, using public transport;

  • Learning basic vocabulary about food and drinks.
