The Alliance Française de Melbourne (AFM) is an independent, not-for-profit language and cultural organisation promoting Franco-Australian exchange since 1890. With a mission to spread the French language and culture well beyond the borders of France, it is one of the 819 Alliances Françaises existing in 137 countries all over the world and one of the 30 AF in Australia. Situated in central Melbourne (various campuses), the centre offers online and onsite French courses for all ages, interests and all levels. It holds a variety of cultural and social events throughout the year including the annual French Film Festival.

AFM is the leading French language education centre in Melbourne, providing high quality language instruction at all levels complete beginners to advanced.

Applications:

AFM is currently looking for casual tutors to teach French classes for Adults, Teens and Kids.

Qualifications:

Suitable applicants will be qualified, innovative, and enthusiastic tutors of French as a Foreign Language. They will demonstrate excellent classroom practice, interest in the care and welfare of students, exemplary use of educational technology in the classroom, and commitment to collegial collaboration.

It is expected that applicants will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in teaching FLE (Master, DAEFLE, 3 year degree in French)
• Significant experience in teaching French to adults, teenagers and/or kids
• Advanced knowledge of interactive teaching methods and experience delivering high-quality online classes.
• Demonstrated passion of French language and culture.
• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and strong word processes skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Flexible team player and a can-do attitude, respectful of others and willing to support colleagues in busy periods;

Applicants need to be flexible in their availability including weekdays, evenings, and Saturday mornings. You will need to provide a current Working with Children Check Clearance Number prior to commencing employment with Alliance Française de Melbourne.

Please note that all French tutors at the Alliance Française de Melbourne must be French-native speakers.

Casual rates paid as per Award Teachers and Tutors/instructors Level 1 to 12 between $50.54 per hour to $66.15 per hour according to applicable level.
