Teaching French in 2016?
School holiday refresher course for Victorian teachers of French

Alliance Française de Melbourne, in partnership with Department of Education and Training (DET) is offering the opportunity for primary and secondary teachers of French to participate in a school holiday refresher course  on the 21 or 22 January 2016.
Teachers will participate in targeted sessions for both primary and secondary teachers with a professional learning focus on shared practices and engaging resources for the French language classroom.

Program for primary school teachers:

• Team building and cohesion activities conducted in French
• Preliminary scope and sequencing of the Victorian Curriculum: Languages F-10 French
• French resources for the classroom (games, story-telling, songs)
• Responding to challenges of the primary school language classroom

Program for secondary school teachers:

• Team building and cohesion activities conducted in French
• Preliminary scope and sequencing of the Victorian Curriculum: Languages F-10 French
• Discussion and brainstorming of themes/topics for varying year levels
• Exploration of contemporary French music and vocabulary for social media in French This course will provide 6 hours of professional learning which is recognised for the purposes of VIT renewal registration.

Who can apply?
Victorian teachers of French from government and non-government schools can apply.

When and where?
The course will be conducted during the summer school holidays  from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January 2016, at Alliance Française de Melbourne, 51 Grey Street, St Kilda.
Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided on both days.

How much?
DET will cover the course fee for all participating teachers from government schools.
A course fee of $120.00 will apply for non-government schools teachers, payable to the Alliance Française upon confirmation of enrolment.

Please note participants can enroll to participate in 1 day only.
Submitting an application does not automatically confirm enrolment in the course. Enrolment will be confirmed by email by Wednesday 9 December 2015.
