Bendigo Library |
Spend the day with our tutor Marion for a unique, small-group French immersion experience in beautiful Bendigo, the perfect setting to slow
down and practise your French in a welcoming, no-pressure environment. We will share good food, discover local history, and enjoy the
simple pleasure of relaxed conversation. Whether you're in the early stages of learning French or are a seasoned Francophile, we will help
you put your skills into practice naturally.
Open to adults from A2 (Intermediate) level and above, this is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow Francophiles and experience French
beyond the classroom. No passport required, just bring your enthusiasm for communication, connection, and learning!
11:30 am – 12:30 pm | Conversation & Board Games
Bendigo Library (10-minute walk from Bendigo Train Station)
We'll kick off with some fun French board games and interactive activities to get the conversation flowing - a relaxed and enjoyable way to break the ice, expand your vocabulary and meet other French enthusiasts.
12:45 pm – 2:00 pm | Lunch at Le Foyer
(Five-minute walk from the library)
No French day out would be complete without sharing a delicious meal.
We'll gather at Le Foyer to enjoy a French-inspired menu with a contemporary Australian twist.
Your lunch includes a main course, dessert, and a complimentary glass of the sommelier's selected wine or beer. Vegetarian option available.
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm | Discover Bendigo
After lunch, we'll explore Bendigo while chatting in French. As we wander through one of Victoria's grandest regional cities, you'll discover its remarkable architecture, including elegant buildings inspired by the style of the French Second Empire.
Participants will then make their own way to Kangaroo Flat Sports Club.
3:30 pm – 4:30 pm | Pétanque
We'll finish the day with a friendly game of pétanque, one of France's most beloved social traditions. Whether you're an experienced player or picking up the boules for the first time, it's a fun way to keep the conversation flowing and round off the day together.
For those returning to Melbourne by train, Kangaroo Flat Station is approximately a 20-minute walk from the Sports Club.
Where you come alone or bring a friend, a warm welcome awaits! By the end of the day, you'll have practised your French in authentic situations, shared a wonderful meal, discovered a fascinating regional city, and met a community of people who share your love of French language and culture.
Places are limited so we encourage you to book early. We can't wait to welcome you for a truly French day out in Bendigo.
A bientôt !
