Refresher course for Victorian teachers of French


Alliance Française de Melbourne, in partnership with the French Embassy and Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) is offering the opportunity for teachers of French to participate in a school holiday refresher course on the 22 and 23 January 2014.

Over the two days teachers of French will participate in professional development with a focus on interculturality and innovative and engaging resources for the French language classroom.

The following workshops will be offered:

  • French and Francophone societies around the world
  • Language and methodology for the use of technology in the French classroom including digital whiteboards, web 2.0 based resources and online applications
  • Authentic French resources for the classroom including video and audio resources
  • Pedagogical project development integrating French language outcomes

Please note that this is a methodology, culture and resource refresher course not a language maintenance course.

The course will be conducted during the summer school holidays from 10.00am to 5.30pm on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 January 2014, at Alliance Française de Melbourne, 51 Grey Street, St Kilda.

Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided on both days. Participants must commit to attend both days of the course and are required to contact Aurelie Pierre by e-mail in regards to specific food diet or allergies: headeducation@afmelbourne.com.au
