Grammar Clinic: Language Toolkit

Holiday Intensive

Are you puzzling over prepositions? Confused by conjugation? If your grammatical knowledge needs a little refresh, then this course is for you!

Many native speakers of English find learning a second language difficult because they may not have been taught the rules of English grammar. If the grammatical terminology that comes with learning a new language seems overwhelming, dont' be alarmed, we're here to help.

This one-day grammar clinic is taught entirely in English and is designed to give students a ‘language toolkit’ that will make it much easier to study French (or another foreign language). Students will be taught fundamental grammatical terms, such as: adverb, conjugation, direct object, past participle etc, and will be given examples and exercises to ensure their understanding. The teacher will assume no prior grammatical knowledge, so students will be encouraged to ask questions – no matter how basic they may seem!

No books required, all material will be provided.

Les registres de langues: Advanced /Expert (B2/C1)

Holiday Intensive

There are many ways to speak French: everyday French, slang, local jargon, or formal. Indeed, you will not speak the same way when meeting your in-laws for the first time, at a work event, or when partying with your “potes” (mates).

French is a living language which evolves over time. “La langue de Molière” is very different from French slang used nowadays. For example, “une femme” became “une meuf” and “bouffer” or “grailler” can be used for “manger”. During this 1-day workshop, have fun exploring and practising “le français sous toutes ses formes”.

This class is suitable for students with an Advanced (B2) or Expert (C1) level in French.
