Apolearn - Our online platform

I did not receive my Apolearn login details. Please check your junk mail and look for an email titled “Vos identifiants de connexion à Alliance Francaise de Melbourne”. It would have been sent to the email address you used for your enrolment. This email includes a link to Apolearn (afaustralie.apolearn.com); your login email and an automatically generated password you will need to log in. 

On Apolearn, how can I change the settings of the language to English/French?  On the top right corner of your screen, you will see your name with a little triangle underneath. Click on that little triangle. There will be a few different categories, including profile and languages. Select the language you prefer (English:Anglais).

I logged into Apolearn but my screen looks completely different to the images in the guide. We are aware that some of you are getting a different distribution of option on Apolearn. For you to access the content of your class,  you will need to click on “Accueil/Home” in the top-red area and then click on “Actualités/News/Newsfeed”. Once you’re here you will either read a message saying “No activity at the moment/Aucune activité pour le moment” or you will see an option to join your virtual class.  If you don’t see the option to join your virtual class yet, don’t worry! It will be added there closer to the start time of your class. We advise to refresh this page, some 30 minutes before your class starts and you will see it there!  

I can't see an option to join my virtual class on Apolearn. If you read a message saying  “No activity at the moment/Aucune activité pour le moment” , you are in the right place, don’t worry! It will be added there closer to the start time of your class. We advise to refresh this page, some 15-30 minutes before your class starts and you will see it there!

Zoom - Joining your virtual class

When I click on the Zoom meeting link for my class, I see the message ‘Host is in another meeting’ or ‘Waiting for host to start meeting’ but my class has already started. What should I do?
Firstly, close Zoom (either application or in the browser) and then refresh your course page in Apolearn. Now try to click on the link to join your virtual classroom again and it should work!

I am using a tablet/iPad and when I access my class on Zoom, I can’t hear anything. What should I do?
If you are using a tablet/iPad, we recommend that you click on join your virtual classroom with the application, rather than from your browser. We’ve noticed that there are some issues with audio when using Zoom through the browser on mobile devices.

Hachette - Digital textbooks

I’m trying to access my textbooks online but it’s not working – it just keeps trying to load but doesn’t show anything. What should I do? When you go to ADD A RESOURCE /AJOUTER UNE RESSOURCE, you will need to manually type in the activation key for your book instead of using copy-paste. Please make sure that you copy the code correctly (dashes included). If it still doesn’t work, please try again (you might have gotten a digit wrong the first time!).

I created my account with Hachette but when I click on login, it tells me "Have you made an error?" This account is not in our database." Before you click on "Login", you need to type your email address next to the person icon and your password next to the lock icon THEN you can click on "Login".

When I try to open my books, it tells me I have insufficient storage in my device. To access the books, you need to click on "En Ligne" and not try to download the books to the specific device you have. Clicking on PC, MAC, Tablet won't work. Please note that for the duration of Term 2 2020, we are offering complimentary online access to the books, this is why they were free of charge and why you cannot save them to your device. 

I accessed the textbook, how can I get the exercise book? Please note that the access to your books includes both textbook and exercise book. You can find the exercise book at the end of the document. 

I am struggling with the online books. How can I get physical copies? As our premises are currently closed, you can reach out to our friends at Intext International Bookshop  (phone: 03 9857-0030). They are based in Melbourne and are currently taking online and phone orders and shipping them on the same day!
