French & Cinema: Jeanne Moreau
A six-week French cultural workshop that complements the 2018 Alliance Française Classic Film Festival, focusing on the films of Jeanne Moreau.
This workshop offers participants the opportunity to partake in discussions, to practise French and to study cinema through different aspects and perspectives raised by a selection of Jeanne Moreau’s movies from 1958 to 1991. Students will tackle important social questions (women’s place in society, male and female relationships, love and friendship), as well as screenwriting choices (the use of music, role of the cigarette in French cinema, importance of trailers...), and (re)discover Jeanne Moreau’s indelible contribution to French cinema...
