Catch Up Lessons Terms And Conditions
By enrolling in a catchup lesson at the Alliance Française de Melbourne (“AFM”), you are agreeing to abide by the policies, procedures and regulations of the AFM. This includes agreement with the following terms. You are also providing confirmation that the information you have provided on enrolment is complete and correct.
Registration for catch-up lessons:
A catch-up lesson can be organised on demand for students who are currently enrolled in a course and who have missed a class and need assistance catching up on missed content.
Catch-up lessons may only be organised during the term in which the class is missed.
The catch-up lesson must be paid for at least 48 hours prior the lesson, subject to the teacher’s availability.
If a class is missed for personal reasons, Alliance Française de Melbourne cannot be held responsible and a no refund policy applies. The lesson may be credited and organised at a later date, subject to the teacher’s availability.
To organise a catch-up lesson, contact our reception on 9525 346. Bookings can be made over the telephone with VISA or Mastercard, or in person, at the front desk (51 Grey St, St Kilda).
Catch-up lessons are offered at the following rates:
- 30 minutes of catch-up can be organised when you've missed a 2-hour class (fee: $20 or $18 for members).
- 1 hour of catch-up can be organised when you've missed 4 hours of class (fee: $40 or $36 for members).
For Express courses, this equates to one four-hour class missed
For two-hour term courses, this equates to two two-hour classes missed
Note: Each student is entitled to only one hour of catch up in total per term. This is not accruable over several terms.
When more than 4 hours of class have been missed, catch-up lessons do not apply and students must catch up using private tuition at normal private tuition rates.
No catch up lesson can be organised if the fee has not been paid at least 48 hours prior to the requested date and time.
Payments can be made either by cash or with VISA or MASTERCARD.
The Alliance Française cannot be held responsible for students’ changes in work commitments or personal circumstances. Fees cannot be refunded if a student cancels his/her catch up lesson less than 24 hours prior to the session or once the class has started. The lesson may be credited and organised at a later date, subject to the teacher’s availability.
Cancellations and changes:
If a student is unable to attend a catch up lesson and wants to change the time of his/her lesson, they must inform the AFM at least 24 hours prior to the session. If they inform the AFM less than 24 hours prior to the session, the AFM will charge the student the fee of the lesson.
Cancellations on behalf of minors or high school students must be made by their parent/s or guardian/s. All communication regarding changes or cancellation must be made through the front desk officers (ph. (03) 9525 3463 or by e-mail at email@example.com
In special circumstances, at the discretion of Alliance Française de Melbourne and on request of the student, when a class is missed due to work commitments or for medical reasons and supporting documentation is provided, a 30-minute complimentary tuition may be offered on a case by case basis. Such requests must be addressed in writing to the Head of Reception
