Spirits of France

Join our knowledgeable French whisky expert Brieuc Quiniou from Spirits of France for this unique tasting experience! In this masterclass, you will discover and taste some of the best new world whiskies. The session will compare two different types of whiskies: the single malt artisan whisky ‘Kornog’, made in the Glann ar Mor distillery in Brittany, and the Michel Couvreur range, which is a whisky distilled in Scotland, and aged in the limestone cliffs of Burgundy. The masterclass will include three tastings of each (details below), and all attendees will receive a 10% discount off the whole range of Spirits of France available on the day!

Whisky tastings include:

Kornog Roch Hir Single Malt 46%: Peated whisky, matured few years in Bourbon Barrels. Elected “European Whisky of the Year” 

Kornog Oloroso Sherry cask Finish 43%: Peated, aged in Olorosso Sherry Cask

Glann an Mor Whiskey Maris 2016 46%: 3 years in a Bourbon cask. 100% Maris Otter Barley, an ancient type of Barley.

Michel Couvreur Whisky Overaged 43%: Distilled in Scotland and aged in Burgundy (France). A blend of 12-24 Years Single Malt aged in Pedro Ximenez Cask.

Michel Couvreur Whisky The Unique 44%: A  blend of malted and un-malted cereals whisky distilled partly by Pot-still and partly by Coffey Still in Scotland, then aged 4 years in oak wood in France

Michel Couvreur Whisky Special Vatting    45%: The ‘Special Vatting’ peaty malt Whisky is a vatting of three single cask whiskies distilled in Scotland, each one having aged over 12 years in oak.
