ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:
Join us for the official opening night where you will have the unique opportunity to discover the new collection by DELPHINE GENIN with a glass of sparkling, and an exclusive talk with the designer herself. A selection of imagery and tools will also be on display to allow guests to learn more about the design process, embroidery techniques and the savoir-faire of French couture.
Delphine’s new collection is inspired by the Paris opera house - the Palais Garnier. After having seen a ballet at the Palais Garnier in the 60s, the designer’s parents were inspired by the main ballerina, Delphine. A woman with a blend of purposeful determination and elegance, she continues to inspire DELPHINE GENIN designs years later.
Creative director, Delphine Genin trained at the prestigious embroidery atelier, L’École Lesage, in Paris before opening her own atelier at the Paris-end of Collins Street in Melbourne. During this exclusive event, guests will discover the secrets behind the design process, the art of embroidery and how innovation and tradition blend together.
ABOUT DELPHINE GENIN:
Delphine Genin is the creative director of her eponymous Couture label. Both determined and talented, she started her career in finance as a CFO at an executive level. It was here that Delphine was able to adapt her business management skills into supporting and establishing her own label.
Her innate perfectionism, and loyalty to her training at the prestigious l’École Lesage, a subsidiary of Chanel, provided Delphine the great privilege of being further mentored by world-renowned Haute couture professionals.
Today, creativity, innovation and excellence are the fundamental pillars and driving force behind Delphine’s creative vision. Her label, DELPHINE GENIN, is dedicated to the tradition of les Metiers d’Art, and works exclusively with a select group of exceptionally skilled artisans. From her atelier located in the Paris end of Collins street, Delphine oversees every detail from the initial designs, to the finished garment.
