Artist’s Floor Talk by Lucia Rossi
From Idea to Execution
Join the artist in the gallery for an informative talk about the exhibition Echo Chamber, The French Revolution, tromp l’oeil, and how her residency in Paris has influenced her work.
Photographic artist Lucia Rossi works with ongoing themes of body and mythology, as well as de-construction & re-construction. After a decade of working plein-air in Tasmania using herself as a subject in relation to landscape, Lucia spent two years in Paris in residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in a studio based practice.
Lucia will discuss details of her inspirations and technique of creating the three dimensional collage works in Echo Chamber, as well as intricacies of the creative process from idea to execution. Lucia will also define the links between her new works and previous works from Tasmania, a selection of which will also be on display in the gallery.
This talk will be entertaining, inspirational and insightful for anyone interested in the artistic process, The French Revolution, and art history.
