July 3 - Senda Florida Trio: Tribute to Astor Piazzola
Astor Piazzolla is credited with completely revolutionising tango, incorporating elements of jazz and classical music.
He briefly lived in Paris in the mid 50s, and it was here that, after a turbulent period of stylistic vacillation, he finally committed himself to tango and embarked on a musical journey that completely changed the course of the genre.
The exceptional trio Senda Florida pay a tribute to Piazzolla through contemporary arrangements of some of his best-known works and references to the classic tangos from which he departed to create his subversive nuevo tango style.
Senda Florida are Stephen Cuttriss on bandoneon, Paloma Bica on violin and Juan Veron on guitar and vocals.
