February 28: The New Impromptu Quartet and special guest Oscar Jiménez
Colombian born singer songwriter and guitarist Oscar Jiménez (Amaru Tribe, Watussi), meets the New Impromptu Quartet for a one-off show of Latin jazz and Colombian folk & roots music. Oscar is a performer of many styles whose music is on the vanguard, crafting a cross-cultural sound that mirrors his geographical journey. Oscar has performed at festivals around the world and toured and shared stages with international artists such as Manu Chao, Seun Kuti, Santana and more. In this collaboration he will be joining Alexander Nettelbeck on piano, Conrad Henderson on bass and Andy Horneman on drums.
Alexander Nettlebeck. Pianist, keyboardist and music producer Alexander Nettelbeck's compositions have featured in dance, theatre, film, and on radio and television. As band member and musical director Alexander has performed on headlining tours of festivals and venues in Australia, Europe, Japan and New Zealand. His playing encompasses an eclectic range of music styles from jazz, to reggae, boogie to RnB, and world music.
Andrew Horneman. With a love and passion for African flavoured percussion, jazz, world music and communicating through dynamic performances on the drums, Andy brings these exciting elements into the music making process. Andy also works with World Vision ambassador Levi McGrath and is co founder of a number of music education projects in Australia and Africa.
Conrad Henderson is the bassist for The New Impromptu Jazz Quartet. He is a prolific jazz and world music musician , a composer and arranger. Each year he performs overseas and tours extensively. He is also a renowned music educator here and abroad.

'Jazzy Jeudi' concert series 2019
Throughout the year, Jazzy Jeudi (meaning 'Jazzy Thursday' in French) will feature various jazz performers once a month on a Thursday evening, often incorporating a component of French language or a repertoire of French music. The performances will be held in the intimate concert space in the basement salon of the Alliance Française.
