This course is for students in their fourth or fifth year of learning French (typically year 10 students)
A2 Step 2 is a French course for high school students that continues over 4 terms. The Year 10 A2 level focuses on consolidating,
practising and developing students' knowledge. This course complements what students are learning at school, giving them more confidence to
speak the language, and helping them to ace their tests and exams! Click

Why study at the Alliance Française?
Following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, our students develop four core language areas: speaking, listening,
reading and writing. Our teaching methodology uses a structured and leveled curriculum based on the textbook Adomania by Hachette editions.
In this course, students enhance their basic knowledge of the language with intensive practice and various educational games. As they become
increasingly confident French speakers, students also explore francophone culture and people. With an emphasis on authentic communication in
class, this task-based approach also helps students develop an understanding of the grammar and spelling of French through interacting in
the language. Ultimately, our goal is not only to teach students language skills, but also to have them interpret the world from a different
perspective.
Course prerequisite: Year 9 A2 or 3-4 years of learning French.

Our Year 10 A2 program is divided into 4 terms in the 2020 school year:
- Term 1: 28 January to 28 March.
- Term 2: 14 April - 20 June
- Term 3: 13 July to 19 September
- Term 4: 5 October to 19 December
By the end of Term 4, students will have learnt all the necessary basics to move on to the next learning step in 2021: Year 11 B1.
To ensure progression and efficient learning, it is recommended to enrol every term for the full length of the school year, for a
full completion of the program.
